We came into some money after Jenny’s brother, Chris, passed away in 2019. We wanted to create something to remember him by and thought that a woodland would be a fitting tribute. Rich has been in the forestry industry for 10 years and has created woodlands for a variety of land owners who have all had different visions for their woodland; be it focusing on aesthetics, maximising financial gain, or improving biodiversity. He is keen to use his knowledge and experience to create a landscape that centres around woodland resilience with carefully selected trees to ensure longevity and biodiversity.
However the woodland is primarily going to be a place of tranquillity and reflection. Our son Struan passed away in 2021 and the woodland is named for him. Both he and Chris will have individually selected trees that can grow and live for them. There will be other trees in memory of other friends and family members too.
Finally, we love the outdoors and so does our dog! The woodland will be a place that we can go to with friends and family to walk, and relax, and enjoy being in nature.
